Beta Kappa- Bowling Green State University
we would like to recognize the Beta Kappa Chapter at Bowling Green State University for another year of service to the College and University Band Programs. The Beta Kappa chapter was founded on April 17, 1949 and celebrates 75 years of service today!
This year, Beta Kappa has done some pretty amazing things. They have initiated its largest class since 2020, nearly doubling chapter membership; provided hundreds of hours of service to help BGSU celebrate 100 years of Band alongside the Alpha Xi Sisters of TBS; just elected FOUR new Brothers directly to its Executive Board; and have been Gov Cup finalists on multiple occasions in recent years. This chapter is not afraid of making positive changes, and consistently works towards a positive culture within the chapter and with the Alpha Xi Sisters.
Some notable Alums from Beta Kappa include Akilah Thomas (current NCD Governor), Preston Ramsey (BK Sponsor), Hunter Martin (BOD member), and Justin Jensen (former KKY CFR). An honorable mention goes to Chapter Mascot, George T. Superpickle.
This chapter will also be seeing a major change this coming year. Their Director of Bands, Dr. Bruce Moss, will be retiring from Bowling Green State University in the coming weeks after 30 years of service. Dr. Moss has not only made an enormous impact on his students at BGSU, but he has also been one of the best Advisors a chapter could ask for. He has put in countless hours to ensure Beta Kappa and Alpha Xi were thriving, and he will be dearly missed at BGSU.
On behalf of the Brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi, we would like to wish you all a very Happy Birthday. Keep striving for the highest!
